Privacy Policy
How BudgetReady collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the budgeting app and website.
Thank you for using BudgetReady (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the BudgetReady mobile application (the “App”).
By using the App, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
a. Account & contact information
- Email address (and, if you provide it, name) for authentication, account recovery, and transactional messages.
- Sign-in may be via email/password, Sign in with Apple, or Google. Those providers process the authentication request according to their own policies.
b. Financial & budget data you enter
- Budgets, categories, wallets/accounts, balances, goals, transactions, recurring items, notes, and related settings.
- Optional custom category icons you choose from your photo library.
- Purpose: core App functionality (budgeting, tracking, insights, widgets, sharing).
c. Onboarding & preferences
- Answers you give during onboarding (e.g. how you heard about us, goals, stress around money).
- App preferences such as language, currency, theme, reminder settings, and widget configuration.
d. Subscription & purchase status
- Entitlement and subscription status needed to unlock Pro features (via Apple App Store / Google Play in-app purchases and our subscription provider, RevenueCat).
- We do not receive your full payment card number; billing is handled by the store.
e. Family sharing (“Together”)
- Invite emails, membership in a sharing group, and related access so household members can share a Pro plan when invited.
f. Support & feedback
- Messages you send through Contact / Feedback (name, email, message content).
- Feature board requests, bug reports, and votes you submit in-app.
g. Device permissions (optional)
- Photo library: only if you pick a custom category icon.
- Notifications: local reminders (e.g. trial ending, daily log nudges). We do not use remote push marketing campaigns by default.
- We do not request camera or microphone access for core features.
h. Product analytics
- Usage events (for example onboarding steps, features used, and subscription status changes) via Mixpanel.
- We may identify analytics profiles with your account id and, when available, email or name.
- Purpose: understand product usage and improve the App — not advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
i. What we do not collect for advertising
- We do not use advertising SDKs (such as Meta, TikTok, or AppsFlyer).
- We do not collect the IDFA for tracking across apps or websites.
- We do not sell your personal data.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, sync, and maintain the App (budgets, transactions, wallets, widgets, Together sharing).
- Authenticate your account and protect against abuse.
- Process and verify subscriptions and entitlements.
- Send transactional communications (password reset, critical account notices) and respond to support requests.
- Improve the product based on feedback and product analytics (Mixpanel), and aggregated, non-advertising usage needed to operate the service.
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms.
3. Data Storage & Processors
Your account and budget data are stored using Supabase (cloud database and authentication) with industry-standard encryption in transit and access controls (including Row Level Security where applicable).
We also use:
- Apple / Google for Sign in and app-store billing
- RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management
- Mixpanel for product analytics (usage events and optional account email/name on profiles)
- Resend (or similar) to deliver contact/invite emails you initiate
These providers process data only as needed to provide their services under contract.
4. Sharing & Disclosure
We may share information with:
- Service providers listed above
- Other members you invite to Together (they can see shared budget data you choose to share)
- Legal authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety
We do not share your data with advertising or attribution networks for cross-app tracking.
5. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data.
In-app account deletion: Settings → Account & data → Delete account. This removes your BudgetReady account and associated personal data we are not legally required to keep (including requesting deletion of related Mixpanel people profiles). Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an App Store / Google Play subscription. Manage that in your store account settings.
You can also export transactions (CSV) from Settings → Import / Export.
To exercise privacy rights, use the in-app tools or email hello@budgetready.app.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. After you delete your account, we delete or anonymize associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law (e.g. limited billing records).
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact hello@budgetready.app.
8. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. We take steps to protect your information consistent with this policy.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date and post the new version at this URL. Material changes may also be noted in the App.
